My sustained investigation developed as I moved to more complex techniques, different materials, and revising my process. I started out by making very minimalistic white pools with a ladder and maybe a pool toy. I soon wanted to try more, having been inspired by the way different pools look in different architectural styles, and reflect the character of the time period and place they are in. I decided to branch out, I wanted to experiment with depth, which would in turn give a falsely deep feel to the pool as the stair depth affected the resin color. Also, I had wanted to try something else so I made a pool with a diving board instead of a pool toy, being very careful to not make a pool feel overcrowded with no more than two elements in any one pool. I kept experimenting with a brutalist inspired concrete pool, and a tile pool inspired by mediterranean architecture. Over time my investigation transitioned from invoking feelings of summer time, to instead causing the viewer to be reminded of architectural styles from just one seemingly small part of a house.
