Echoed Ephemera

My artistic journey delves into the complexities of memory, capturing fleeting moments tinged with haziness and distortion. Through the medium of photography, I explore the nostalgic landscapes of childhood, juxtaposed with the bittersweet realization of leaving behind the familiar. Each image serves as a testament to the ephemeral nature of recollection, evoking feelings of nostalgia and the delicate dance between remembering and forgetting.

Central to my work is the theme of femininity, portrayed as a journey of growth, self-discovery, and empowerment. Drawing inspiration from the divine feminine, I invite viewers to explore themes of identity and vulnerability within the natural environment. Through the lens of femininity, I aim to evoke a sense of familiarity and ambiguity, allowing each viewer to interpret the imagery through their own experiences and memories.

I started by using photography and then further developed my artistic practice by utilizing cyanotype as my chosen medium, I harness the power of the sun to imprint these moments onto surfaces, creating monochromatic blue hues that mirror the haziness and distortion inherent in memory. Torn edges, collaged fragments, and overlaying images further echo the fragmented nature of recollection, inviting viewers to delve deeper into the layers of meaning within each piece.

Ultimately, my work seeks to provoke reflection and introspection, prompting viewers to reconnect with their own memories and moments of childhood nostalgia. As they engage with the imperfections and beauty within each frame, I hope to foster a sense of connection and resonance, bridging the gap between the personal and the universal.
